Midtown Manhattan dentist Dr. Yelena Simkha uses Invisalign Aligners to Correct Misaligned Teeth

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Best Dentist New York CityMidtown Manhattan dentist Dr. Yelena Simkha specializes in using Invisalign to correct misaligned teeth. Invisalign is a transparent alternative to traditional braces. While traditional braces are visible and uncomfortable, Invisalign aligners are see-through and comfortable. If you need to correct misaligned teeth, you should visit Dr. Yelena Simkha at her Midtown Manhattan dental office.

Another reason that Midtown Manhattan dentist Dr. Yelena Simkha recommends Invisalign aligners over traditional braces is that the aligners are removable. While normal braces restrict what types of food you can eat, Invisalign aligners can be removed at mealtimes.

The Invisalign aligners inserted by Midtown Manhattan dentist Dr. Yelena Simkha also minimize tooth decay and are more comfortable than normal braces because Invisalign aligners apply less force than traditional braces.

Another benefit to Invisalign aligners is that Invisalign aligners take less time to correct misaligned teeth than braces do. At her Midtown Manhattan dental office, dentist Dr. Yelena Simkha can apply Invisalign aligners to correct misaligned teeth in the most comfortable manner possible.

Midtown Manhattan Dentist: Dental Visits May Reduce Heart Disease in Women Says Oral Hygiene Study at UC Berkeley

Regular visits to dentist can pay off for women in several ways.  In addition to having beautiful looking teeth and a great smile, women who visit the dentist regularly also may have less heart problems.  A new dental study by UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health claims that women who make regular visits to a dentist and practice good oral hygiene reduce the risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems by 33%.

The dental study examined men and women who visited a dentist during the previous two years compared with men and women who had not visited the dentist.

Researchers found a correlation between women who visited the dentist and women who did not have a visit to the dentist.  There was no such benefit found for men who visited the dentist and those who did not visit the dentist.   The dental study suggested that estrogen in women helped to prevent heart disease.

There have been several studies linking dental care and cardiovascular disease, but this study boasts that it is the first study to show that general dental care can lead to a reduction in heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular problems.

This dental longitudinal study followed the same people over time.  Subjects were studied over time and were categorized based on whether they had visited the dentist and whether or not they experienced heart problems.

Men and women who would like to make a dental appointment with Dr. Simkha can do so by calling Prestige Dental today at (212) 683-4330.  To get more dental tips and to find out how to keep your teeth looking great, be sure to check the Dental 5 Star blog regularly.  If you would like to have that great smile that you’ve always dreamed of, call Dr. Simkha at Prestige Dental or visit us online at http://dental5star.com to find out more information about Invisalign, dental veneers and many other dental procedures that can help give you that winning smile!
